Aims & Objective

The school is run by the Governing Body of St. Joseph Day School, Howrah, involving the total community of staff, management, students and parents in a programme designed to lead their holistic development and transformation into an aware, self-sufficient body of people living up to their civic and social responsibilities. The school aims to guide the students in the development of a Sound Value System and to inculcate in them a deep love and appreciation for their culture and country.

Upholding the belief that a man was created as a being of high intellect and responsibility, and expressing true education as ‘the harmonious development of the spiritual, the physical and the intellectual powers’, the school in Howrah defines its objectives as follows:

To offer the child a well-balanced programme of personal developments.

To develop in each child the ability to find and use information and materials independently.

To develop emotional stability through pleasant relationships in the classroom.

To develop in each child the ability to read with understanding to spell correctly in all written work, to solve problems through use of skills in arithmetic, to speak and write more effectively.

To help the child to grow up as to be an asset for the country.

Kazi Anisul Islam (father of Kazi Safikul Islam) was the Head Master of a Government School, who had a dream to establish his own educational organisation which is thus fulfilled by his son.
